Some bridal tips that should not slip your mind for that princess like look ..

Don’t oil or cream-based products : Oil secretion is accelerated during the monsoons, so make sure you wash your face with a mild face wash around three-four times a day. You could also use a gentle scrub with mild beads once a day. It is important to recognise what suits your skin and what doesn’t well ahead of your wedding day. Cream based makeup products are best suited for winter season only. As a monsoon bride, stay away from both cream and oil based products. Such products can melt and become runny. So, whether it is blush or even eyeshadow, nothing that is cream-based is recommended. After all, your skin is your crowning glory and you don’t want anything to mar your bridal beauty.

Don’t go overboard with glitters and shimmers: You do want to look all glitzy and glamorous on your wedding. But since it is the monsoon season, it is best that you avoid any glitter or shimmer on your skin. These products will add extra shine on your face making your skin appear oily. An intelligent option is to switch over to a good quality matte bronzer for a classy and sophisticated look. Especially if you have a day time wedding, it is best to stay away from glitters and shimmers.

Don’t step out without sunscreen : Don’t think its cloudy so the sun will not harm you. You would do well to remember that sunscreen is your best friend throughout all seasons. In fact, sunscreen also protects the skin from harmful UV rays that are emitted by your computer screens and television sets! Make a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher factor part of your bridal beauty regime and put your tanning and pigmentation woes to rest.

Don’t experiment with anything new just before the wedding :  Tempted to try out a new beauty treatment you looked up on the internet? Think that a newly introduced cream will add to your bridal glow? Think again. Your skin may not feel the same way you do and you do not want to end up with a nasty reaction barely days before your marriage.

Don’t neglect your skin : While you’re busy running around on last-minute errands and making sure everything is in place, your skin is begging for some spa indulgence. Unwinding with a relaxing facial regularly will ensure that you, as well as your skin, feel like a million bucks on the day you are to wed. However, a word of caution, get these facials done by professionals who can customize it to your skin type, to avoid any ill-timed reactions.

Don’t forget to remember your feet : Good foot care starts with some tender love, soak your feet in warm water and use a pumice stone to gently scrub away loose skin. Treat your feet while you sleep – slather on a thick moisturizer and slip into a pair of socks, which will help seal in moisture overnight. Go for regular pedicure sessions, after all you do need good feet to rock those stunning shoes!

Don’t compromise on your beauty sleep : This one is for all weathers. As you count down the days to your wedding, it is absolutely okay to feel restless, it’s part of being the bride after all. However, make it a point to get at least seven hours of sleep every night and catch a few winks in between occasionally. If you feel uncharacteristically lethargic, try some yoga to boost your energy levels.

I know i have been hibernating for a while now … but i promise to make up for it this month … So lets get started with The Amazon India couture week 2015 …

And guess who inaugurated this year, my favorites Sabyasachi and Christian Louboutin …  Its amazing to see Louboutin’s iconic red-soled footwear paired with Indian outfits at the India Couture Week.

The Bater Couture 2015 by Sabyasachi is all about being gothic, untamed, a touch of carcass, bold, aggressive, desolate, haunted, cruel and much more.

This time the collection was sexier and much darker than the designer’s previous work – emphasised by his concept notes, which included words like “bondage”, “vengeance,” and even “grim” – saw models wearing heavily-shaded lids, feathered eyelashes, and Bordeaux lips, with severe, centre-parted hair.

sabya4

Sabyasachi left behind the volume of past collections for more structured and draped pieces that hewed to the figure, so that various indigenous embroidery techniques in gleaming material, such as zardozi , resham work, Parsi work and  badla work, shimmered down the length of the body.

But on the whole this collection of his is more for the experimental and off beat brides …especially because there is a lot of black, grey and ivory has been used which is forbidden colors for traditional brides.Rest is for the more discerning bride – someone who understands the presence of a cape jacket or even a long boxy jacket on a sheer lehenga.

Flashes of shoes designed by Christian Louboutin were visible. The platformed ultra-high heels also featured glittering gold detail on white. The pieces might not be fit for the conventional bride, but they’ll make a fine trousseau for a gothically-inclined one.

The men’s collection with bandhgalas worn with shawls, sherwanis and Nehru jackets  with embroidered sleeves something to look at this wedding season !!

Trust me when i say just the sleeve can really make a huge difference to your over all look ..Lets decode the sleeve style according to your body type

sleeve

Very Thin Arms.
If you have arms that are very thin, then go for heavy borders like zari and kundan with thick fabrics and brocades that will make your arms look fuller. The elbow length sleeves are meant just for your arms. Brides with thin arms should opt for embellished sleeves. With a petite frame, it is easier to carry sleeves which have work on them and don’t look overly bulky.

Heavy Arms.
If you have a fuller upper body with bulky arms, opt for dark toned solid sleeves with thin borders. This will help you slim down the arms and balance the hips. You can also opt for full length sleeves that give shape to your arms. You must also use soft fabrics like georgette and chiffon rather than thick fabrics.

Embellishing them with intricate work or just infusing elements that make them stand out, add a different appeal to the whole garment. From short structured sleeves to long fitted ones, it’s all about creating a statement piece.

3/4 th sleeves: Women are not marrying till their late 20s anymore and by the time you reach the late twenties, you need a wedding attire that is classy and elegant and this is exactly why 3/4th bordered sleeves have become so popular. While cap sleeves also do fine, the multicoloured with multiple fabrics do more justice to a 3/4th blouse. They also give a very good shape to your arms.3/4th sleeves with kundan and zari borders are certainly in trend this season. So if you are one of those brides who does not like much focus in the center of the dress, 3/4th sleeves with heavy embroidered pattis or work might just do the trick for your elegant look.

Want that picture perfect gorgeous skin while saying your vows? Here’s what you need to do to get that flawless skin!

  • Do go in for high quality protein food such as fish, poultry, shellfish and tofu. Colorful fruits and vegetables, legumes and whole grains will also do the trick.
  • Do not however entirely cut down on fat. You could keep snacking on nuts and seeds which will prevent you from getting a dull and dry complexion.
  • Drink your way to luminous skin with beverages pumped up with antioxidants such as green tea. Six to eight glasses of water everyday keeps your skin moisturized and well hydrated.
  • Watch out for sugar, processed foods, aerated beverages, baked products and juices as they tend to dull out your skin and also add a couple of pounds. Got a sweet tooth? Can’t stay away from them? Stick to fresh fruits and dark chocolate (70% cocoa).
  • Exercise! Sweat out those toxins! Pilates, yoga, weight training and aerobics, three to four times a week for an hour can work wonders for your skin. It turns out; athletes have thicker skin and a healthier collagen. When we work out, we rid the body of environmental toxins.
  • Want in on an anti-aging secret? A good night sleep! That’s all you need to let your skin cells repair any damage done.

  • Facials! Experts say schedule a series of monthly facials beginning as early as six months before your wedding. To help make sure that your skin looks healthy and perfect on your wedding day they advise your last facial to be no later than two weeks before the big day. Avoid any chemical treatments at least one month prior to your wedding.
  • Do not experiment with any new skin care products a month before your wedding. Trying out something new may cause skin rashes and cause breakouts. Stick to your regular skin care routine.
  • Hair removing treatments such as eyebrow threading and waxing should be done three to five days before your big day. Keep the redness and irritations at bay!
  • And last but not the least, dress rehearsals! The worst thing would be to walk out of a salon on your wedding day to look and feel nothing like you. Keep away those tears and do a trial run with your hair, make up and bridal wear, a week or two before your wedding.

And the most important thing of all – be yourself! Be beautiful!

Begin the routine as early as you can. Go on, make that skin glow!
